When purchasing used hydraulic equipment (a Gannon 4x2 boxblade with two cylinders) do I just connect it up and get busy or is there anything I can or should do about the hydraulic fluids in the used equipment?
I believe that I would flush them out. But I would just remove the QD and flush it that way. You can control where the oil goes more easily. If the oil looks good then I would not worry about what is left in the lines and in the cylinders. If it does not look good then pull the lines and clean them out too. In that case you would want to do a more thorough cleaning anyway.
