I'm looking into the fimco LG-60-3PT and the LG-55-3PT spray units. The 60 appears much more substantially built than the 55, even though it only carries 5 gal more capacity. It's hard to tell from the website what other differences there might be. Any stories to tell about these units??

Flintlock, havent been reading much, too much to do at the six. Actually went to farm and fleet today and got the LG-60, it was marked down $100. The pto pump was $110 so I guess I break even. Soon as Nancy and I got to the six we unloaded it in the shed..... father in law needed me on the 2305 for the next 4 hrs so I will try to put it together tomorrow! Probably just run water first to get it set up. Did you get one yet? Fitz

Let me know how you like it. Having several acres stumped out and graded for food plots and I know the weeds will love the fresh acreage.

I have the 55 gallon boom model. I bought it at agri supply allready put together. the first time I started the pump, fluid came shooting out where the gauge screws into the main valve. they screwed it in too tight and cracked the fitting. went to the local tractor place, and they had nothing that would work. so we pulled the gauge out, wrapped the cracked piece with electrical tape, and put a piece of hose over it and held it on with a hose clamp, and screwed the gauge back in, and no more leak. I called agri supply, and they said they will give me a new part. after spraying 2 acres the straps came loose, 1 actually fell off, but the tank stayed put due the bolt placement. replacing those with ratchet straps. I really like the handgun on it, it is like a pressure washer want, really heavy built. can spray, and the flush it out, and add a cleaner, and wash the tractor with it, it works really well. the boom sprayed really nicely. the mount is plenty strong, does not need to be any stronger. hopefully 2 acres will be dead this weekend.

Fimco makes a good sprayer as long as some box store guy does not put it together. Try and get one in the box yet that you can put together yourself. At one time they had a less expensive pump with an upgrade to a nicer one. Just double check the pump you are getting and go for the nicer one.

I have the 55 gallon one and the only real problem I have is w/ the straps. I ended up using a ratchet strap to hold it on and plan on replacing both w/ ratchet straps before I have to use it again.

Does the fimco sprayer come with PTO pump?? Anyone have his sprayer rigged for either boom or boomless spraying. I will mostly be spraying open fields where booms would be useful. But when I have to spray much narrower areas like woods roads, boomless would be better.

Take a look at the Paul Zimmerman sprayers, made in Pa and about as good quality sprayers as you will find anywhere.

That's a good idea. The guy where I got my forks deals with Zimmerman. I'll check with him. Thanks

What I did for my ATV sprayer was I went to a local implement dealer that only sold spraying equipment. He built me one that had much nicer products on it and it ended up being cheaper than the Fimco. I sold me ATV one and I had him price out a larger one for my 3 point with a PTO pump and he was right in line with Fimco but again the valves, the boom, the tank, th nozzles and the pump were much better grade.
