Tiller Questions on Muratori Tiller?

Anyone have experience with the Muratori (Italian) tillers? The
brand has been around but not many turn up on a search of this forum.
I purchased a chain drive/slip clutch 60" new on eBay (about $500 less than
anything else I could buy new). I have been plowing and discing for
years but I have no experience using a tiller so I wonder if I have to
baby this thing and the process for using it to renovate pasture
and till old sod in preparation for replanting.
I paid $1100 plus $175 for cross country shipping.

No experience with that brand. The gear drive KK tillers are tough as nails and don't need babying. Just make sure that the slip clutch does.

Is the difference between gear and chain power or durability.
Do the chains break if stressed, and is that a easy or big
repair? I will make sure my slip clutch is adjusted properly.

I have a 37" Muratori for my Kubota BX2200. It works well, even in my hard packed adobe clay. It is rough going in places where glacially deposited rocks are almost cemented in claypan just above the level where my durapan (silica cemented, water impermeable hardpan, that's almost as hard as concrete) begins. I've had the bolts come off of one blade. Other than that, no other problems. I probably have less than 10 hours on it though.

My Kubota K420 tiller was made by Muratori. I bought it used so who knows what it has been through. I converted it to a front mount for my tractor. It works great - no complaints.

I have a b7800 and I have been looking at KK tillers. The KK website
says I should get a 48" tiller for my pto power of 21hp. What do you
guys think? 48" or 60" tiller.

You have similar pto hp to mine and I run a 60" First Choice (Sicma?) tiller easily.

Depends on your soil type. Rock hard dry adobe clay, go smaller. Sand, go larger. Loam, ask others who have similar conditions.

Hi Bob - How are you making out with your new Muratori 60"? I am considering the same model. They say it is offsetable up to 4 inches... is this really true? I don't see from the photos how it can do that? I would have to run with exactly 4 inches of offset to cover my 68" track on one side.

Also, how was it shipped? Mine would have to be shipped in too. Do they come in a box... or on a pallet... or both? I am very concerned... based on an ugly shipping history... about shipping damage.
