My Shaver Post Driver is missing the road Lock and pin. I have the parts list but can't figure how road lock works. I would like to rig up something for the time being. Can someone with a Shaver HD-8 Post Driver take a picture of their road lock and post it.

Also how do you store your and attach your post drivers. I tried to attach mine to the 3pt but could not manage to do it alone. Thanks in advance.
Steve

I have a new Shaver HD-8 with the road block. It will be a couple of days before I'm back at the property where the driver is but I will take some pics next trip unless someone else is able to post some for you. I bought mine through a tractor dealer. They assembled and delivered it. Mine came with stabilizer legs on it which allows it to be stored upright altho I had to tie it to a post in my pole barn to keep it upright. At least in this position, it's easier to attach with only one person (like I must do) versus on its side as your photo shows.

Luremaker, I can't give you a picture(driver is 1800 miles away), but it is basically channel iron with two holes( I believe 3/8" diameter) that attach the channel iron to bottom of the driver with the same holes that hold the hydraulic cylinder to the framework. That channel iron is attached with the "open" end downward. The easiest transport pin/latch to use is drill 5/8" hole thru the channel iron(both lips that point downward) in the center that matches the hole in the heavy ram/driver when it is in transport height.
[There should be a transport hole already in the ram]
You could use a hitch pin and its spring pin to hold the ram/driver in transport position. I would put the locking spring pin on the backside by the hyd. cylinder. This method is very similar to the factory pin assembly but easier to fabricate.(no welding) This is how my Dad's is currently. We did do one upgrade to that whole lower assembly years ago, we enlarged those two bottom 3/8" holes to 7/16" holes so larger threaded rod and nuts could be used to hold that entire assembly together. With all the use it gets and when it rides around the tractor (front mount on JD 4020), we were breaking the 3/8" threaded rods that held that bottom assembly together. I see that yours is a three point hitch style, you may not have this problem because you will probably remove it from the tractor during other chores.
