Tractor
John Deere 990 , and a Z 445
I E -mail Joe from Milonzi he quoted me
48” LD Grapple - $695 and 60” LD Grapple - $1425.75

I was wondering for an extra foot Its twice the money.

What do you all think ? this is something I will use occasionally.

I have a JD 990 with a 5 ft bucket

Not worth it for the extra foot. So you have to make extra grab every 5 grabs.

Unless you get more hydrolics, or beefier model.

The 48" model only come with one cylinder and "claw". Everything else has two. JC

I ordered the 48", can't imagine what I'd gain with a 60" for my application.

Having used the Millonzi LD48 for the past year I cannot imagine why anyone would want 1) a bigger grapple on a CUT or 2) two grapple arms rather than one. The only design feature that I would consider would be one of the clamshell style grapples like WRLong sells and that would be a toss up for efficiency but would cost lots more.

I think people get confused when buying grapples in that they equate their bucket size with the grapple size. They are not related. You actually decrease your effective load capacity by opting for the bigger heavier grapple. I have not come across a single item in all the work I have done that I could not get into my grapple and hold it securely enough to transport it 200-300 yards. I have securely grappled some things like big stumps that I could not lift but I have never found it difficult to get a firm grip on any shape object that was big enough not to fall between the grapple tines.

Some people don't like the idea of a smaller grapple because they don't think it looks good with their big tractor. Some folks will always worry about certain attachments not being big enough in life. For those who are more concerned about getting work done than appearances, the lighter weight 48" grapple can handle anything a CUT can throw at it.

Joe at Millonzi International and Nelson at WR Long were the folks I dealt with also. They were both very helpful with all my questions and made the ordering process surprisingly painless (as painless as letting go of $1500 can be, anyway :D).

Keep us posted on your install...
