What is this blade worth?

I've got a landpride blade, that I use for grading my road. It was left to me by my late father. I use it with my tractor, but it is really too big for my l5030 'bota. I was thinking about selling it and getting something a little smaller, but I don't know what this one is worth.

Hopefully, someone here has a good idea. I don't know which model it is, but I think it is an older RBT55120

Sure wish it were hooked to the back of my tractor rather than yours!!
Appears to be a nice one, no doubt about that. I really have no idea what the value of it is, but probably not as much as your Dad paid for it new.
What horsepower do you think it would take to handle it easily?

My father bought it used also, but we never used it very much.

My kubota has HST, and has enough power in low to get a decent cut, but you are really going slow then. I would say about 65-75hp would do just fine with it. I think it is designed for a min. of 90hp

What I don't like is the size and weight of it, my tractor gets light in the front end when the blade is lifted up, and it will sometimes pull the front end around if you get a good bite on the outer edges. I think if I had an M series, even only 50hp just something bigger, I probably wouldn't be thinking of going smaller at all.

The gauge wheel is nice. Good for roads. Tad wide for my taste. I do a lot of side hill sculpting where I am just using the tip of the blade. I like mine just as wide or slightly wider than the rear end.


It is a nice blade. I would start with $2500 or 2/3rds of new and come down as needed. Option would be cut down what you have to a more manageable size and add front weight. Having the larger king pin and mounts can't hurt.

The RBT55 is rated for a 90-180 HP tractor and is 120" wide, @ 1753lbs. I have no doubt that it is over $5000 new. If it were me, I would be thinking about a replacement moldboard the width that would work with my tractor. That Land Pride blade is among the best of the best. Maybe check with a local dealer about a trade in for a smaller blade. What ever you do, do not give up the hydraulics. If you have been using that thing much, and go to a non hydraulic blade, you will be sorry.

I would say $2500 would be a good deal for someone who needs a blade that big with gauge wheel and 2 other cylinders. I see it has a tilt, offset and gauge cylinders. Does it also have the angle cylinder?

If you need the blade and it works for then I suggest getting a bigger tractor I think it would be a perfect excuse to tell the wife.

Haha, I really want a bigger tractor (with a cab), but my kubota isn't even paid for yet!

It has offset tilt and gauge wheel for hydraulics, and I would never even think of going to one w/o hydraulics, that woudl be way to much of a PITA to deal with.

I think I may go talk to the local landpride dealer and see what he says. Or maybe just deal with it for the next 4-5 years and get a bigger tractor then.

Your blade is exactly what i am trying to build. The guys at work have already curved me a moldboard from 6mm steel, 3 meter wide.

I dont want to pay $2500 for it because i dont spend that much on hobbies, though i will look at the landpride website to get some more ideas for this project of mine....

I was planning to build a blade like this, to be used with our Zetor 5245 MFWD which would be similar in size and weight to the M series 50 hp Kubby you were talking about...

Put some sand or what ever in the FEL bucket. Then your front wheel drive will be much more use to you and you will also be able to steer.
