Does anyone sell a CAT 1 hydraulic top link for a compact JD tractor that has a small valve and handle attached to the top link itself? I want an open center type so that it can be hooked into my JD Power Beyond ports. I do not want to install extra divertors or another valve station. I would run short hoses to the quick connects at the back of the tractor and it would become part of the tractor hydraulic system with fluid running through it all the time.

What I need is essentially a tiny version of what many log splitters look like. A single OR double ended cylinder with a tiny valve and handle welded to it. I want to reach around behind me and push the valve lever to adjust the top link length. I don't mind swinging around in my seat since I will need to see the implement to decide how much to adjust it anyway. The handle would be closer to me than the levers on the i-match, so I know the reach will not be an issue.

I looked at the various CCM and TNT posts, but did not see a CAT1 open center version with attached valve.

If I can't find what I want, is it safe to weld to a small hydraulic cylinder that is only 1.5"-2" in diameter?? If so, what valve should I weld to it. Please recommend brand and model number.

Lewis,
As far as I know no one makes a valve/cylinder like you are want. If there was an assembly like that it would be quit heavy and cumbersome. There is a company that has a shut-off valve on a cylinder which has both ports plumb through the valve. It doesn't connect to the tractors hydraulics. I will try to remember their name.

I have the oil tank, valve assembly and handle needed to make your project work. You would need a top link hydraulic assembly though. Easy enough. I just converted the one I have to my remote outlet so that is the reason I have the parts which are completely assembled BTW. When I used it 1 month ago it worked like a champ.

Tank?? I want this thing connected to my power beyond so it is part of the entire hydraulic system. I don't want to add any extra valve stations on the small fender area I now have.

Does anyone make a small open center valve that weighs less than 3-5#??

Gordon,
I don't know of any small manual valves like you want. Have you thought about an electric over hydraulic solenoid valve? They are really dinky but need a sub plate. They also need simple electric hooked up to operate a rocker switch that you can mount about anywhere. That kind of valve needs very little space to be mounted.
Something like this.
Electric Solenoid valve
Then get the sub plate for it like this, be sure it is the correct one for that valve if you buy it.
Sub Plate
Northern should have both pieces though.
And any kind of rocker switch ... maybe one that fits into your joystick?
Just a thought ...

Lewis,
Take a look at THIS post, he did exactly what you are talking about. You just need to find a compact valve rated for your total GPM. This valve from the Surplus Center may fit the bill.

I don't think you're going to do it w/out one as your cylinder will not have enough fluid supply to compensate for the top link in its max extension. Call the guys at Jiffy Hitch and they will have what you need at the very least.

Sorry, but this makes no sense:confused: he can certainly plumb a valve into his PowerBeyond circuit without adding an extra tank.
Who is "Jiffy Hitch"? Do you have a link?

Jiffy Hitch, That is who has the self contained cylinder and valve deal.
They don't have a picture worth a flip of it on their site. The only one that I could find was the bottom picture on this page and you really can't tell anything about it.
Do-All Carrier
You would think that they would show it better if they wanted to sell them.
