Where are second hand box blades found advertised for sale. I've been googling like crazy with no luck, expecially trying to find something close.

Do you have a BC version of the TRI-AD News. There are usually lots of use implements in the Ontario Tri Ad. iSell Classifieds

You may just want to keep a sharp lookout for implements laying around properties that dont appear to be used.. I have been eyeing a box blade sitting beside an outbuilding that hasnt moved in about a year.. I am going to stop by sometime and see if they would be interested in selling it..

Personally I have not seen many small implements listed in the local classifieds.. I see mostly tractors or larger stuff like bailers for sale.

hears my experience.

i looked online for months... NOTHING

i checked local dealers... there rusted out hulks of BB they were asking nearly as much as a brand new light duty KK version (or simular)

i started looking for them stitting in yards. I tracked down 2 or 3 this way but most of the owners had bought HD versions (or "high priced brand new from the dealer") and used a few times, then its sat outside for the past 2 years before they decide to sell it for about $100 less than the inflated price they payed for it in the first place.

I finannly found a new-unused one that had been sitting for a year+ for $275 from a guy that dabbles in buying and selling used impliments on the side... he always has a pile of them sitting in the front of his property faceing the road... i figured he want $$$$ for it because it was basicly new and he's in it to make some beer money.... turns out not to be true... he picks up the stuff dirt cheep from adds and acutions and then tries to turn it around quickly for a reasonable price.... (which seems to work)

my point... your going to need to find one sitting in a yard to get a decent deal if you just dont buy a light duty one brand new.

I did everything everyone else did to no avail :(. My neighbor has a really nice Land Pride BB that he never uses to my knowledge, would probably sell it to me for a reasonable price, but was too large for my tractor. I ended up buying a new one. I can take some solace in the fact that I got the heaviest and one of the best built of the major brands for the lowest price in my area. Jay

You'd be surprised how many people trade tractors at dealers with an implement attached to it, and I've found that the dealers usually sell the items seperately. I bought both my boxblade and my cutter from dealers that had taken them in with a tractor. They made their money on the tractor and the implement is pretty much gravy. I've got an Atlas boxblade, I'd call it medium duty, and paid $150 for it - had very little use on it. My old Howse cutter cost me $300 and the dealer threw in the 2 new u-joints for the shaft. I always cruise thru tractor dealers' lots and look for an old piece sitting around when I'm around one - never know what deal you can find !!

What Skip says holds true down where i live. if a tractor gets traded at our local brand-name dealers.. the implement is sold outright.

I lucked up and found my old box blad along the roadside at a junk dealer for a mere 100$ I don't use it alot.. and it's not very HD looking.. but it was the right price!
