I have a John Deers LX4 Rotary cutter that I am planning on trading in on a new John Deere 5 foot rotary cutter. Supposedly john deere now sells Frontier, so it would be a 5 foot Frontier with a slip clutch, laminated wheel, and guards on the front only. What should it cost as far as trading up? My LX4 was new about 3-4 yrs ago when I bought my JD 2210. There is absolutely no damage to my LX4 and its been stored inside so there is NO rust anywhere.
I got a quote from the "Stealership" today and they want $995.00 and my used LX4 to trade up. Supposedly the unit lists for $1,471.00 and they want to charge $239.00 to set it up.
I'm confident that I can set the dang thing up and save the $239!
So we'd be looking at like $750 for the trade. (I'd do the set-up) What do you guys think about this price?
Also are the Frontier models decent, or are they cheapos.....This LX4 i have is built really really well, but my 2520 is begging for a 5 footer!
Suggestions?
