belts?

Is the RTV the only vehicle out there that doesn't use a belt in its drivetrain?

I"m trying to figure these things out as my 4 wheeler isn't doing enough for me these days.

RTV has no belts. Fully Hydrastatic Transmission ..
I think they are the ONLY utility vehicle that has NO BELTS !!!

I know a guy in Montana that has a John Deer Gator that has a weed spraying bussines and he said he wished he owned the Kubota. His Gator has a chain drive and he said he has lots of problems with brush kicking the chain off and stopping his work in the field.

Yes the rtv is the only one that doesn't use a belt. It is only fair to note that it is also the only one that is not all wheel drive
Only the 6 wheel th series gators have the chain drive. Very sturdy vehicles.
The 06 and up hpx and xuv are all wheel drive with no chain.
Polaris Rangers are also all wheel drive.

The 4x6s aren't really chain drive though either. They still have our belt drive system but a chain to connect the two sets of wheels to each other.

There weren't many places the 6x4 couldn't go. Seemed like my 6x4 diesel could get traction in almost any terrain. Didn't do well in deep mud, though. The front end would always catch air when topping over a steep rise. Kinda surprising when it first happened.

Thanks guys for the info. I can't afford one just yet but am looking to the late 2008 early 2009 future.

I have been lurking for a while and I haven't test driven any of these vehicles yet. it seems there is an overwhelming support that the RTV is the way to go if you are looking for a "work horse".

I have a Deere dealership very close by but they charge way too much for their stock and are not even willing to budge on things..... long story short they made me mad when I was looking for a tractor and ended up going to a different dealer who was more than happy to work with me and ship the tractor for free. The only reason I stuck with Deere was the availability of parts from the dealer. The closest Kubota dealer is about 17 miles away.... so I'm not sure what I'll do yet.

I also have a Yamaha dealer in town and a Kawasaki dealership and hour away but am just in to beginning stages of looking around.

Eventually all mainstream manufacturers of utv's will have all wheel drive.
