Seen those before, pretty neat. Problem with them is the hauling time. Those are good for parks to keep on hand, to hold something as best they can before the real stuff gets there. The reason they're not the most popular with actual fire departments is because you either send out a truck and trailer or an engine. Either way you send a truck.

Still, not to get off the point, they are super cool.

Yes, I they are not meant to replace a regular engine. They are more for off road/limited access settings.

BTW: Did you join the FD?

very cool. I can see this being used in earthquake areas or heavily forested areas. It gotta be better then hiking for miles with gear where 8 ft wide trucks can't reach.

The thing that is interesting about those particular units is that the water pump is driven from the RTV's engine not a separate gas engine like most other UTV fire units...

Nope, not yet. Work and school take over volunteering right now. I won't be 16 til November, but I'd like to get in by Septemberish.
