I have a 2012 RTV900 with windshield and roof. I am considering some sort of a cab, and am seeking advice recommendations, etc. :confused3:

All the ones I've seen aftermarket use their own windshield/top and are soft cabs.

I am really seeking something more sturdy, steel, etc. Not sure if Kubota offers an 1140 type cab, but will check with the dealer the next time I'm there. Those on Ebay seem too flimsy, but I could be wrong.

There are some aftermarket solid cabs out there but I can't speak to their fit and finish...I'd stay away from the vinyl jobs....I looked into OEM cabbing an RTV900 with a heater...By the time I was done adding it up, the RTV1100 made more sense financially...Just saying that the OEM cab is very expensive.

There have been a few people on the site with aftermarket hard cabs that have been pretty happy...Don't have any links as it's been a long time for that subject on the UTV forum.

Check essex manf.company or curtis cabs.

A very good point. However, I had no idea how great the cab system is until I drove a friends Ranger 900XP w/cab & heater. I may just trade up to an 1100 this Fall. At the time of purchase, I thought that the 900 was almost too much for my needs. My neighbor bought an RTV500 at the same time, and now he wants a cab, as well as something faster. No doubt, at age 71, a cab is needed for comfort. Also, my dealer didn't have any 1100's when I made the purchase.

I did the math before I bought an almost new 1100. A 900 with all the add ons to make a cab, by which no means equals a 1100 luxury cab, put the 900 at over $16K. Too much for something that is almost $ wise a 1100, but isn't. The 1100 is a bigger machine too all the way around. I see 900s with the flimsy cabs and after a few years they look like old tarps blowing in the wind, doesn't look like fun at all. Coming from a guy who couldn't afford a new 1100 but found himself BLESSED to find a used 1100 cheaper than a new 900. Good luck.
