Kubota RTV-1100C

I really like the RTV-1100C but wish it would go a little faster. A lot of my property is along a paved secondary road and absolute max speed on the level is 26 mph with A/C off. Have seen 27 on slight down grade. Max speed going up this slight grad is 18 mph. I knew this was not a "go fast" machine when I bought it but the cab, HST transmission, heat, A/C and ruggedness are all big pluses in my opinion.

Shifting in/out of H, L, N and R is sometimes difficult. Dealer told me it would get better with use.

One thing I've noticed is, never let it sit in gear whether you're just jumping out for a second or parking. Always put it in neutral and use the parking brake. That seems to make it never get stuck shifting for me.

Seems simple enough. Will give that a try. Thanks.

Have found that stopping the engine (key off) usually works for when it's really hard to shift.

My 1100C is still in the break in stage and is sometimes difficult to shift, but if I feather the engine just slightly and let off it shifts in/out just fine. I have the same issue with my 2008 with a lot of hours on the machine so it is just a Kubota thing. Great machines unless you want to go fast then should buy something else, but for torque and reliability these are fantastic.

Sometimes feathering the throttle isn't an option in very tight places. Going deer hunting today and will give these ideas a try. Thanks.

When I first bought mine the dealer adjusted something on it to make it shift a hair easier.

That's good to know. I will ask the service guys about that when I go pick up my turn signal kit. Thanks.

Hey guys I was at my dealer the other day and he showed me about a service bulletin on the new Rtv X 1100 and the other rtv x series. The pressure relief valve cable that when you press on the break comes through the firewall is suppose to relieve the pressure on the servo valve and make it easier to shift.

Problem is the cable is held in place with a grommet and nothing else if you look at the attached picture you can see the fix is to tyrap the grommet in place and take the slack out of the cable so it is not mis adjusted from falling out of the grommet and is stiff enough to work the cable and servo pressure relief valve.

I did this to mine and it all but fixed my problems so take a look and hope this helps. Oh this is under the hood of the rtv

Thanks for the info. Appreciate the reply and the pics. Makes it much easier to isolate the issue.

I am thinking of getting one, but I heard that they don't like deep water. That the transmission belt will slip even after mimimal water crossing. Other than that, I have not heard of any issues. Even the slow top speed sounds good for my needs.
Has anyone had any problems going though streams or mud holes?
