I have the chance to buy a 2004 Polaris Ranger 6x6 with 248 hours. I am told that it will run in Lo,
but will not shift into Hi. What are the possibilities that could be wrong with it and how costly in parts?
I can work on just about anything, so I am sure that I can fix it. I am just wanting to figure out how
much to offer and how much to fix.

The easiest thing to check would be to see if the linkage is screwed up.

Thanks for the reply. I also thought about trying to shift it in and out of gear while it is off. This is a utility auction, so I am not sure if I can check it out fully before bidding. It was used to ride, monitor, spray ROWs; so I don't think that it was rawhided too much. It is located at the utility shop, so I would think that it had been maintained.

I agree. It could be as simple as adjusting the linkage.

Thanks. I have bid on it. I will let you know if I win and what the problem is.

Well, I didn't win. It went for way more than it was worth in non-fully working condition. Hope it was something simple for who won it.
