JD Gator power lift question?

I measured mine and it was 16" open and close to 8" closed. Hard to measure without lifting the bed off the power lift.

Thanks FRANK, that was middle eyelet to middle eyelet correct? Finding one that size is going to be hard. I was under the impression they were around 15" closed, see image.

That was from the base to the top of the extended shaft. I'll remeasure this afternoon from eyelet to eyelet and disconnect it from the bed and measure it without the bed in the way.

Well I measured the lift center of pin to center of pin and it is 16" closed and 20" open. Maybe 20.5" open. I was only measuring the shaft before.

I had similar price shock when replacing the net wrap actuator on my JD 466 baler . Deere wanted $850 for a four inch actuator. I used to mess with C Band satellite all the way back when nothing was scrambled up until it was all scrambled. The actuator on my baler and my Gator 6x4 is just an actuator like on the old dishes. Naturally Deere had a Deere only lock on the part. I contacted the company that made them and chatted with a nice young man who said is they could sell it to me it would be less than $150 shipped--HOWEVER--Deere had them in a contract that did not allow them to sell to individuals or businesses.

Ebay wound up being my answer. Bought a used one for $250, kept the search(under the part number on the unit) open and a month later bought a shiny new one for $75 shipped. Man did not know what it fit.
