lost key 2002? john deere trail buck ext 650

Hi All

looking for some help. I lost my key and do not have a spare. I am soo mad, that I did not make a spare.

what is my best option..
parts seem hard to find, but can I just replace the ignition?
or can a locksmith, make me a new key
or can I put in a aftermarket ignition?

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Seriously though, as MF283 says; bring proof of ownership to your Deere dealership and they'll fix you up with a spare.

Also... Exit 650 from where? E,W,N,S? (It could be important. :confused3

with others contact nearest dealer. and they should be able to fix you with a new key.

tractor keys = no chip in key or resister or like doing. just a plain old key. sadly enough, many times the key works for many tractors and/or for all the same make/model of given tractor.

worst comes to worst, you will be paying for a new key and ignition switch.

I walked in to the parts department at my local Deere dealer to get a spare key for my L130 riding mower. He opened a drawer and tossed me one. It fits every Deere riding mower made in the last 20 years.

I find the keys on tractors and lawnmowers to be interesting. As Teachu2 said has been my experience with mowers and tractors. If you search ebay you will find keys listed for a brand and model with nothing else listed.
