Default 863 bobcat with 3700 hours

I found a 2000 bobcat 863 in CA for $3500. It has 3700 hours, comes with an 80" bucket and a backhoe attachment (24" bucket). Seller says everything works and doesn't appear to have any leaks. Good deal or too many hours? I'm a general contractor that doesn't need a skid steer very often. Thought about selling the backhoe attachement to get close to paying for the machine. Thanks!

Before I even finished reading your post I was thinking the backhoe attachment was worth the $3500. 3700 hours can be a lot of hours, depending on how the machine was treated. I imagine the kubota engine is fine, if anything close to proper maintenance was performed. The unknowns would be what condition the drive motors and hydrostats are in. My experience is, that the hydrostats hold up pretty well, much better than the drive motors. I'd say it was a good deal if you drive it and it seems to perform to your liking.

A 2000 863 with backhoe for $3500? My scam alert meter is rising rapidly. Have you seen this machine? Did you drive it? Stolen? That rig in good condition should be over 10K even with those hours.

Yeah, that's cheap, esp with the hoe. I have been looking for a project
skidsteer in NorCal for a while. With the downturn, I have seen lots of the
hoe attachments (no SS) for under $3000, but no running Bobcats of that
    size for under $4000.

Watch out for broken loaders on contractor machines....the ones that use
    hydraulic breakers.
