Quit running and no fuel to squeeze bulb. Blew air in line to tank, blew air in tank filler neck, still no fuel. Is it a big issue to pull tank?

To pull tank, I think you have to pull the motor. It's under the motor.
It's not usually recommended to blow air into the fuel line because there is a valve at the other end. I think my old 863's had the same fuel system and my in-tank fuel pickup would get clogged and we'd replace it from the access under the machine's keel.
If you have a hole in tank, I'd think you'd see or smell diesel.

Most likely the pickup tube became loose from fuel slosh over time and fell off end of the barbed fitting at top of the tank. Follow the fuel line back from the squeeze bulb to fitting on top of the tank and pull fitting and rubber bushing out. Replace the pickup tube and install new bushing.
Midway through production of 863 there was a change in pickup tube when Duetz added a debris screen to the lift pump. The pickup tube changed to a stiffer nylon tube with on screen, was rubber hose with screen on it. Best repair is put the old style rubber hose with screen in it.
