Code: 32-55: ACS Lift Handle / Pedal Short To Battery, SJCRight Joystick Y-axis Short To Battery
Description:
A Code 32-55 occurs when ACS Controller detects a voltage higher than 4.85 volts on the signal wire from the Lift Pedal in Foot Mode, Lift Handle in Hand Mode, or the Right Joystick Y-axis in ISO Mode. The ACS handle and pedal sensors or Right Joystick are supplied 5.0 volts from the ACS Controller. If a Code 32-55 occurs, the lift and tilt functions will be disabled. If the Loader is equipped with analog joysticks and the operating mode is switched to H-Pattern, the code will change to a Code 32-71 "Right Joystick Y-axis OORH".
Possible Cause:
Signal wires 4650 or 4660 shorted to battery.
Supply wires 1510 or 1520 shorted to battery.
Ground wires 2660, 2650 or 2070 open.
ACS 5.0 volt supply.
Handle / Pedal sensor or Right Joystick.
Moisture, corrosion, or pushed back pins in the ACS Controller, Lift Handle, Lift Pedal, or Right Joystick connectors. See Electrical Systems Connector Maintenance in Technical Information.
If the code is intermittent and not on at the time of testing, the cause of the code may not be found at this time. Probable causes may include: loose connections, corrosion, pushed back pins, the controller, the wire harness or a combination of these problems. Refer to Troubleshooting Intermittent Electrical Faults Procedures in Technical Information.

1 Is Code 32-65 “Sensor Supply Out Of Range” also displayed?
Troubleshoot Code 32-65 Go to Step 2.
2 Is the Loader an AWS/SJC machine?
Go to Step 7. Go to Step 3.
3 Verify if the Loader is in Hand or Foot Mode. If you switch the operating mode, does the code clear?
Go to Step 4. Troubleshoot a 5 volt supply problem.
4 Check ground wire on the Lift Handle or Pedal for continuity to ground, pedal wire 2660 or handle wire 2650. Is there continuity to ground?
Go to Step 5. Repair or replace wire harness.
5 Go to the Diagnose/Calibrate screen in the Service Analyzer. Move the Lift Handle or Pedal while monitoring the signal voltage. Does the signal voltage go above 4.85 volts?
Go to Step 6. No problem found. Perform a wiggle test.
6 Check for a short to battery on the signal and supply wire to the Lift Handle or Pedal, handle wires 1510 and 4650 or pedal wires 1520 and 4660. Do the wires check out OK?
Replace Lift Handle/Pedal sensor. Repair or replace wire harness.
7 Check ground wire 2070 for continuity to ground. Is there continuity to ground?
Go to Step 8. Repair or replace wire harness.
8 Go to the Diagnose/Calibrate screen in the Service Analyzer. Move the Right Joystick forward and backward while monitoring the Y-axis. Does the signal voltage go above 4.85 volts?
Go to Step 9. No problem found. Perform a wiggle test.
9 Perform a wiggle test while checking wires 4650 and 1510 for a short to battery. Do the wires test OK?
Replace Right Joystick. Repair or replace wire harness
