Hello guys, I was just wondering if I can get some opinions.

I am very close to purchasing a CT335. The dealer called back and said they had a brand new 2010 CT335 with full warranty and would offer it to me for $750 less than the 2012 model I am currently looking at.

My question is.....are there any issues with the 2010 that were addressed in new models. Any horsepower difference or other differences that I should consider?

I do know that the 2010 has some rust on the loader. I am sure I can grind this down to the metal, prime and repaint and it would not be an issue. From what I have seen on this board it looks like the loaders have always had a bit of an issue with this. So it is probably not a big deal.

I just wanted some opinoins on this. Save the money and take the older machine or take the newer machine. I will not be selling the machine so resale is not an issue for me.

Thanks,

My CT335 is a 2010 model and I like it. Had it for a year and a half with no issues yet. I'd probably try to work him for a little more on the 2010 if it was me. I really do not believe there would be any real mechanical differences. You'll probably scuff up the shinier one and it'll get a little rusty too in time.

What does $750 equal as a percentage discount for the two year old one?

Well the Base Price for the tractor is about $20,000. So the discount is just under 4%.

In my mind, it should be discounted more. So I am leaning towards the new one.

See if he has a 235. Same HP, slightly lighter, virtually the same loader capacity.

And he should be giving you at least 10~12% off the older 335.

How much of a discount do you think it would take to make it look as pretty as the 2012? Why not try for a little more and see what happens? The extra $ could go toward something else you want.

I would go with the 2010 model it will have the old style loader on it. I do think you should beable to get him to drop more then $750. though. What you save can go towards toys you will need.

The is no design changes between the 2 year models. If you can get the 2010 at reasonible discount go for it, you will still be getting the same tractor. The loader will depend on if it is early 2010 or later, Bobcat started building their own mid-year 2010.

The were some ct335s built for 2012 production year but are dicontinued, none being built now. What ever is left in dealer inventory is all there is.
