72" Front Mount Snowblower

I seem to have an issue with sheer pins sheering. The size and weight if this thing, I would think it pretty much bullet proof but so far this year I've sheered three pins on the auger and one on the drive shaft. Anyone else experience this? I plan to replace them all with a grade stronger.

Can't say about front mount blowers as I have a 72" ECONOR (by NORMAND) driven by about 30hp at the PTO. When I lose the pto shaft pin, usually because fan can not clear as fast as auger puts snow into chute. Mainly happens to me when I have too high a ground speed or flap on top of chute restricts discharge too much. My auger pin goes when I hit something in/under the snow. I only ever use plated, 1/4" x 20 bolts because they are way cheaper than anything else (I buy them by the pound at TSC), easy to change and have faith they will protect the expensive bits. I use my blower on many driveways as well as on my maple syrup trails and firewood trails, and I break lots of pins.

What is the make and model of the blower?

It seems strange to be shearing pins on a 72" blower with a 35 hp tractor(unless you're picking up rocks, etc). Do you have a manual showing the size and grade for the shear bolts? I would stick with the manufacturer's recommendation. Otherwise you can do serious damage to the blower and/or your PTO.

What kind of noise do you hear when they break ? Sticks , rocks , chunks of frozen dirt , ice , make an impeller very unhappy . How hard is the snow that auger is trying to move ?How many hours of use are we talking about ? Are thay roll pins or bolts ? Pins will wiggle out , tight bolts are better . This is the Bobcat blower, which I suppose is a Rhino. The same people that make the cutter, hoe, etc.
This is the second winter I've had it and its used at a residence. I will do me and my neighbors when opportunity arises. I remember last year one had broke and I never heard nor picked up anything. I grazed the edge of a wooden step a few weeks back which I think made one side break as my neighbor reported when he borrowed it for the 1st time since I was away and it aids the wife. I had a Kubota BX before and its 44" would never break like this. My wife had it the other day and it was -20 lots if snowfall and frozen. It broke both auger sides and the shaft bolt. Then she got stuck not realizing she was hanging herself up.

I'll look at the manual. Good suggestion and thanks. They have to be undersized. I'm inclined to think Bobcat dealers, skid steer specialists, would've put whatever they grabbed first to assemble these and not spend s lot of time in the manual.

I'm still away but my neighbor went over and got it unstuck, filled it and fixed it before doing our and his driveways. I'll have to see what he thinks.

Had the same trouble, now using gradec 3
I also have trouble with the back chain and sproket, they keep falling off.... Keep an eye on your chain and sproket, remove the cover, and do a visual

At the time I lose the shaft bind typically in light of the fact that fan cannot clear as quick as twist drill puts snow into chute. Fundamentally befalls me when I have too heightened a ground speed or fold on highest point of chute limits release excessively. My wood screw pin goes when I hit something in/under the snow.
