other than a sickle mower is there any other type of Hay mower a CT235 could handle on a small scale?

A "drum mower" would be well suited to your small tractor.

Right on. Get a 5-ft drum mower. Cost will be about $3K plus shipping (about half the cost of a similar size disc mower). Drums will not clog like sicklebar mowers, will cut any type of vegetation regardless of the moisture situation, cut fast at high ground speed, are simple machines that require minimal servicing, and the blades are inexpensive and quickly and easily changed in the field.

Good luck.

Kuhn and Kubota make a small one and there are several itiallian ones out there. I would suggest you first rent one from your local AGG dealer or rental place that handle agg equipment. I run a 9' IH 1300 sickle mower with no issues. does very well for me.

One other question - what do you plan to use for a rake and baler?
