Oil filter doesn't fit!! Weird

I have an oil filter for my CT225 waiting for the next service. Here it is:



The ID of the threads is shown on the caliper. 18.56 mm give or take.

And thats exactly what we need. A picture with proof. That particular bobcat 6696286 filter matches the spec. 20mm thread. And the OD threads on the tractor-side should be in the 19.5mm range.

Would be nice to see a picture just like that with the OP's old bobcat filter, and napa filter that "doesnt" fit

Well, thanks to you guys, this is figured out. I'm an idiot. I shouldn't have believed the guys at the parts store. They had the original bobcat filter and the new Napa filter. They never figured out that the Napa filter was built wrong or mis-labeled. They even had the wix beside it, just like in the photos, and a vernier caliper, and a book telling them what the dimensions should be! There was 3 guys trying to figure it out. I shouldn't have taken their word for it.

I also never thought to measure the threads and look them up, which would have been an easy way to check. Duhh.

New Wix 51324 measures +/- 18.5mm. New Napa 1324 (misprinted?) measures +/- 22.1mm

Thanks for posting back. Too many threads like this never get closure.

Clearly Napa fubar'ed that filter for sure. Definatally makes it tough trying to figure things like this out, cause we assume that Napa got it right, so you start second guessing everything else.

Wonder how may others out there like that. Cause surely napa dont make them a single filter at a time. No telling how many ran with the wrong screen print on there and made it out the door.

Where ever those filters are made must have the ole'factory worker attitude.....When in doubt, ship it out

I happened to be nearby the same Napa i went to before, today. I popped in, told the guy about the misprint, showed him the filter, and he handed me another one, like it was no big deal. I wonder how often this happens...
