Cheap Snowblower Shoot Motor

I got a 49.95 atv wench at costco and with welder and some thought put a very nice snow blower motorized shoot togrther. works great i operate from my drivers seat .no turning that stupid hand crank (HELLO) JUST A LITTEL THOUGHT WILL GET YOU A LONG WAY. And keep bank full of money.

Good idea! That should make life more pleasant while blowing snow.

Yea, but window motor won't pull him out of the ditch when he is stuck!

Get real-that won't pull him out of the ditch! It may work just fine for what he has in mind, though.

Actually just about any electric motor will pull you out of the ditch, with the proper gearing. You just got to have plenty of time and some steep gearing. I have a 1/2 hp motor that will move massive amounts of weight, to a point I worry about the gearbox case splitting. However, it has a triple reduction and takes over 8 hours for the output shaft to make a turn. Slow, but steady as she goes. With the freezing temperatures, I would hope for a more powerful backup, that is a little faster, but what the heck, we don't have those problems down here very often. (if ever)

Key word in the title is cheap! I was making the observation that the cheap Chinese Costco electric winch will probably last forever when used as chute turner, but use it as a winch, and it'll burn up quickly, I know, I see lots of them at auctions, and they all have given up the blue smoke of electrical defeat!

That sir is the "magic" smoke that makes everything electrical work. If you can capturew this smoke (you have to get all of it) and put it back in said device it will continue to work. Don't beleive me? Just try it next time you let the magic smoke out.

Whether it's factory smoke, magic smoke, or the blue smoke of electrical defeat, there seems to be a lot of it coming out of Chinese electrical products!
