Here is a tooth bar I built this past weekend. 4"x1/2"x72" cutting edge with eight Fabco teeth.

Nice work Joe!

If you don't mind me asking, how much are those Fabco teeth?

Zick,

I paid $240 including shipping. I didn't have any dealers in my area, so they were shipped directly from Fabco. They are the TB-1001-23 shanks.

GIJoe,
Thanks for the great pictures of the toothbar you installed. I bought a used tooth bar this weekend (slight ripple in the middle, but not enough to bend my bucket edge I think) and Sunday was just laying it up to the bucket to see how it fit in. I was trying to get it in upside down. It would have worked that way, but now I can see how to lay it in. I have been around machinery my whole life, but never paid much attention to a toothbar before. I travel for work during the week, so I can't wait to get home to try it that way. Your work looks good on that toothbar.

Yeah, super nice work indeed.
Have you had a chance to try it out yet? Adding one to my bucket sure made a big difference in how it digs, but also in picking up rocks, logs and brush. I have never had it off since I installed it.

Very nice work!! Thanks for the part # too. I am looking into either building one or buying one for my corral cleanups this year. Also as 3RRL stated, it would be nice for the rocks I have to move too. But I would have to remove it for the snow season tho.

Very nice!

Do you know what the distance is from the bottom of the cutting edge to the top of the bar? I'm wondering if those adapters would work for me and they don't list that dimension on the Fabco site.

Are those the 8023 teeth?

Thanks,
Brent

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the feed back.

3RRL,

No, I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I raked up a bunch of tree limbs and leaves and have my grapple attached at the moment trying to get that mess cleaned up.
Oh yeah, I don't want to scratch the paint off of it just yet.

RADE0041,

If I understand what you're asking, the original cutting edge is 1/2" thick and welded onto the bucket which is 3/16" thick and the cutting edge the shanks are welded to is another 1/2" thick for a total of 1 -3/16" thick. They are the TB-1001-23 shanks.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. Sounds like those shanks will work for me too.

Nice job on the tooth bar. Did you use a stick welder? If so what rod did you use?
