Has anyone used Casewwell's Powder Coating System like the one pictured here.
![]() At only $95 it's not very expensive and could be fun to play with. Seems like it would do a nice job of painting my metal projects. Caswell Inc. - Powder Coating System

Eastwood HotCoat Powder Coating Equipment: Guns, Gear, Powder & Prep sells a good one also and I don't think your wife will let you use her oven for parts cooking
Around here they are on the side of the road all the time with a top burner not working but oven is great. Have fun and be careful ![]()

As MrJimi stated, Eastwood has VERY good powder guns. I have the Original Hot Coat gun and the new airless one too. I prefer the airless one because I now don't need to keep adjusting pressure regulator for applying,(5-8psi), then turning up for clean-up. Also 1 less hose dangling around your feet.
Sometimes a good deal turns out to be a PITA, but then again it may work fairly well. I went with Eastwood because it is a very proven unit. Been using the original for over 6 yrs without an issue. And the airless unit is on sale for only 25 bucks more than the caswell, or the Original is even cheaper yet right now. Just my .01c (I'm too cheap for .02c, it's a fuel thing )Powder Coating Guns: HotCoat and HotCoat Pro Powder Application Guns and Equipment |

Thanks for the quick replies. I going to order the airless gun from Eastwood's. I already have an oven set up in my shop and a spray booth ready to use. Looking forward to using the powder coating gun. Steve

Glad to help. Just make sure you prep your parts VERY well or the powder won't stick. Also if you can swing it get some extra powder cups, 1 cup per color. Faster cleanups and color changes. I have 8 cups and still need more.

^^^Yep. Nice feeling doing the work yourself vs. paying someone else for something you are capable of doing.
I have been using Eastwood products for 6 yrs coating my custom gas/cargo racks for snowmobiles for 6yrs, and have had fantastic results. I have done some auto parts and misc stuff in between and have been VERY satisfied with the results of powder vs paint. Here's a few shots of the racks if your interested. |

Thanks for all the info. I am getting excited about receiving my kit now that I can see what it is capable of. Can't wait to give it a try.
