Can't get the attachments to work the way I wish so this will be in at least two parts.

I don't have a cement garage floor to do my work upon so I'm normally ooutside on the ground. With that said when I need to remove an engine, since 3" steel casters don't work well on dirt, I would normally have to position the hoist and move the vehicle into position, lift the enging, move the vehicle and you get the picture. I used to have a larger Kobota tractor that I could use with a boom pole but I downsized to a Yanmar 2210 and it haas its lift limits. I took the leg extensions out of my engine lift and relaced the front ones with extensions that I added skids to. The rear extensions were replaced with "L" shaped inserts with hitch pins installed. I welded some tabs to the upright to attach the top link.

The top link can be adjusted to change the angle of the legs in relationship to the ground. If the hoist with enginge is too heavy for my tracroe to lift then I just raise the back and drag it on the front skids. A little paint and the hoist is ready for work lifting what ever is required anywhere I can back my tractor.

Oh yea, the hydraulic cylinder is kept stored in a shed. This keeps the rod from rusting which in turn eats the seals.

Nice work !!

I use mine on a brick floor, which is already inconvenient with the small cast iron casters. Using any bigger wheels means that i cant get under cars anymore and i wil have to use the front loader.

I bought mine to remove the axle portals to rebuild the brakes on the loader tractor. Off course this is a job where the loader cannot be of any help ;)

That's slick! I fully expected to see an engine lift, retro-fitted with small 'crawler tracks' !!! :D

I did something similar only mine attaches to the swing bar tow hitch (not the 3pt arms)and where the top link attaches to the tractor. I also have some 1/4" hi tensile chain attaching to the roll bars mid way up to keep the vertical bar stabilized. I've picked a 1000 lbs with it so far. I'm runnin' off the remote valves on the tractor for hydraulics now, a recent udate. bjr

I have a frame that bolts in the bed of one of my trucks that I made an upright for and the boom and jack from one of my hoists bolts on. Worked awesome on my trailer project.

Hi Eagle_Dude, thanks for sharing

similar idea here, i will borrow your Skid idea for use here one day when clearance is an issue. swiveling wheels are my choice for moving heavy objects across the fields or any distance, also for mobility not connected to the tractor. mine is still very much "work in progress", and a complete heavy duty rebuild version is planned.

the "Crows Feet" are widened and on pivots so width of the "crow Feet" is adjustable at the cross brace. So far it works great, pulls trees ok, pulled a telephone poll (7' deep, pole tapper caused great suction, very wet at time), pulled 700lb concrete pillars and moved with no problems.

one picture shows a failure were the upright broke while trying to pull a 6" tree, reinforced repair and got the tree out. tractor hydraulic powered cylinder is in my future too.
