OK Harv or anybody else, have you ever made any brackets to attach on homemade implements to fit on a standard bobcat style quick attach loader like in the picture?

Yup! doing two today as a matter of fact. I just copied the pattern on the bucket and it's nothing but a thing.

I'm making a couple of buckets for hauling concrete. One for an order and another as a spec for a potential order. It's almost as easy to do two at the same time as it is to do one.

The angle is about thirty degrees as I recall. I've got a pattern for it at the shop.

I have found out that even though the top groove is the same in all the quick attaches I've found so far. There is a difference in the spacing of the bottom keeper holes between the brands, Case, Bobcat, JCB, etc.

I'm building concrete buckets. Something I just did when making mine turns out to be something evidently some other folks who make them didn't do. I allowed for the concrete to be as close to the tractor as possible. The closer it is to the tractor the more leverage the tractor has for safely hauling it. I also put on a splash lip. Some of the others out there don't.

Once you start making your own tools for your tractor you might notice which of the hydraulic controls are easiest to use and give you the most confidence. Then use that information when designing your tool.

Let's say you're wanting a cherry picker boom for lifting and moving things. You've noticed your bucket tilt is not as comfortable for you for lifting as is the bucket lift function. If you're lifting things high like to place them in a loft or on a truck. You might consider changing the angle of your boom in relationship to the attach plate to take advantage of this.

If your boom was to go out straight from the plate when you want to go higher after you reach your maximum boom lift. You'd have to use your tilt function. But if you make the angle up from the get go then you can still use your lift function when you need the most control.

I hope I made some sense.

It's sorta like the design of the concrete bucket. When I made the bulk of the void as close to the attach plate as possible I gave the tractor the ability to carry more safer. If I had done like some of the others the weight would be out farther which drastically cuts down on capacity and comfort of use for the operator. When that pucker string is stretched very few of us are really comfortable over any length of time.

Here's a picture of the old concrete bucket and the backhoe attachment. As you can see I just happened to use whatever was handy at the moment, catch as catch can you might say.
