Tractor
ford 1210
I thought I might post some photos of my recent project.
I saw alot of post on this topic and thought do it.
it is for a ford 1210
I made this out of all stuff laying around in the garage.
Frame is made out of angle iron (bed frames)
covered w/ 1/4 plywood
windows are clear plastic ( the kind on the old lady couches) just stapled to the plywood.
One hinged door, carpet in side to keep out cold.
Lights front and rear
not bad for under $ 50.00 bucks

Looks very effective, especially for blowing snow. No more coming in looking like a walking snowman! I like the carpet idea to.

Those homemade cabs are never pretty, but so what.

Thanks guys.
not bad for a chef i would say.
had fun making it
needed a reason to play w/ the new welder.
next project is getting some heat in the cab

would it not work to tarp the over the sides of the engine so the heat from it blow back into the cab. I have seen that on larger tractors.

Nice job I love my homemade cab, you will like not being turned into a popcicle, especially with a blower.

I have a heater for cab but i need to find out were to tape into heater lines
I have two 1/2 plugs on the top of the water pump.
i am assuming they can be removed and I bought a kit for plumbing the lines.
I can't find any info in my owners manual
need to find out if anyone has done this before for the ford 1210 tractor.
It's like anything else you learn by trial by error

The soft clear vinyl for couches is a good idea. Several years ago while blowing at night I had a sharp tree branch pierce my soft side cab. It opened a rip 2' long, thank goodness for duct tape.
My concern about the cab is CO which is Carbon Monoxide , I would not seal yourself in too tight.

Craig thanks for the concern
i have a small area done on the pedal area that allows fresh air in
also built the cab to have air flow threw the cab at top by 1/2 inch in the middle works great

Good Evenin Chefirv,
Very nice job, I like the color and paint job along with that custom carpet ! ;)

Now all you need is a seat with arm rests, of course rolled and pleated ! ;):)
