The project describes itself as: "The Global Village Construction Set (GVCS) is a modular, DIY, low-cost, high-performance platform that allows for the easy fabrication of the 50 different Industrial Machines that it takes to build a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts."

Holy Smokes, lightning strikes twice... I was about to post this link here and I was looking for the apropriate forum when I saw this thread. You beat me to it by just a few hours. Glad to see that others on this site are forward looking in this backward seeking society. This is a really good site with so much great information it nearly boggles the mind. Good going Mat H, this site helps advance the local/global community and by extention, the world with DIY self sufficiency and resource sustainbility. I'm also posting the link in case someone missed it earlier.

Open Source Ecology

A very interesting interactive project and philosophy that looks to create a healthy societies based in collaborative and sustainable DIY. This site also includes plans and CAD files for any number of farm impliments, among other things, including Tractor, Bailer, Hay Mower, Backhoe, Seeder, Rototiller, Bulldozer, etc., not to mention welder and plasma cutter. A real pot of gold here, enjoy. :thumbsup:

I was contacted by them two months ago - they liked my SS QA design posted here and wanted to add it to their tractor project. Pretty cool stuff.
