Added some 4" castors to move it around easier. Also added square tube to hold either a small vise or my hand shear reciever hitch style. I built this the same height as my main workbench so it does double duty holding long steel or wood projects.
Nice thing about the expanded and the grate is all slag and junk falls thru to the floor.
I bet that light is nice. That's a problem for me when welding... shadows.
From now on I will only buy cars that are a silver/grey color. Then I can make all body repairs with Duct Tape.

I assume that would be better, but did you find an advantage to the surface you have?

    Hi Ken,

I've not had any issues with the diamond plate being on the top side. One advantage is small chunks of slag, splatter, grinding dust and other debris settle into the valleys of the diamond so that the overall surface is still flat.

Here is a table I made that really makes it worth making. Before making I did everything on the floor.

I really need to get wheels on my welding table. I had been afraid that it would roll away and be a pain that way, but seeing so many wheeled tables on this thread without complaints makes me think that maybe it wouldn't be so bad. My shop is small and nothing gets its own space. The welding table will be a lot easier to move with wheels.

I can't imagine doing everything on the floor. I'm using an old metal clad door on sawhorses until I get more experience.

    Your table looks very nice
