Hey guys, I have to tie some 12.5 gauge high tensile to eye bolts and line strainers. Been trying to find the correct knot to use online but haven't had much luck finding a picture or video.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're using high tensile wire, about the best solution there is to bend it back to itself making a loop, then use a crimp and crimp tool to secure the tail. Twisting won't hold from what I've seen

Ya. I had a feeling. I was able to make a "knot" with 14 gauge that held fine but I couldn't tension it enough without breaking. So I got 12.5 gauge. I'm just gonna order a crimped and sleeves. I have to make about 50 connections so I got 200 sleeves. Apparently, 3 sleeves will hold to the full strength of the wire.

But to answer your question, for mono fishing line two knots that give close to 100% strength are- Improved Clinch Knot and Palamar Knot.

Thanks guys. I picked up the crimper today and sleeves. Wow. They hold good and look a lot cleaner than any knot.
