Trying Rough cut isn't always the easiest as it tends to dry and move.

Forgive my ignorance on this subject.

When you have a space that could be considered a garage, with a space considered liveable, they are supposed to be sealed off from one another. Most of the time it's done with a solid wood door with a full jam. This is supposed to keep gasses from engine from settling in the livable areas. Will you be required to do this and how would you do it in your building?

I was denied a permit for this reason when I wanted to build a 24x24 on my house. They BI said it's a no no to have windows or other openings that lead into a space that could be used to house vehicles equipped with engines.I would have had to tear out and enclose three windows in the side of my house before I would be granted a permit for the 24x24 garage addition.I'm in an area with laxed building codes.

I don't have an answer for you, I am guessing since it was attached to your home they don't want the fumes getting in, In my area there are a lot of shops built like mine with living area up top. I am not using the top for a living area.

Here is the front pretty much done except for the Top door, The Picture of the two small 2x4 is the support for the dowel that goes into the building that holds the rope. The weather stripping for the garage door is behind the door trim used a Dado blade to cut the grooves.

The Pictures from the field show the 300 Plus foot Ditch that I put in last year you keep the water from coming off the hill to fast or to much, it keeps it off the main yard for the house, the itch is 6 foot deep at it's deepest and is filled with ditch stone, it empties to a stream on both ends, the dirt that came out of the ditch went ont eh downhill side to act as a back stop.
