I am a new member with a John Deere 4410. I am looking for information on how to build a home built thresher to harvest a small amount of wheat that I planted last winter.

I have thrashed grain by putting it in a container with a lid on shake it for a little while. With a catch pan to catch the grain pour the grain and chaff out. There needs to be a slight breeze to blow the light chaff away and the grain will fall to the pan separated from the chaff.

Search the net. There are some out there but may not be available here. India has small ones I do believe. :)

There is always a flail and use the wind to blow away chaff.:)

Welcome, there has to be something in the whole US of A that will thrash a 1/4 ac of wheat and a 1/4 ac of oats easier than that with out buying a combine. Hope you find what you are looking for. If you do let us know, I am looking too.
