I would like to take an engine that was on a swather with a variable belt drive and convert it to drive a pto shaft. I would like to have a clutch while eliminating the belt. Does anyone know of anything that would suit the purpose as a clutch and stand up to about 40 hp input. The application is to mount the motor in front of a tmr mixer wagon by extending the tongue so that I can move it with the same tractor that I load it with and then can start it up to unload later in the day and not have to start up an 80 hp diesel in sub freezing weather. I am hoping I can come up with a straight through design instead of side stepping out and back with pulleys but I can if I absolutely have to.
Thanks in advance.

My saw mill has a Rockford Clutch that bolts on to a John Deere engine. You engage the clutch with a hand lever. The output shaft is in line with the output of the engine.

That would be the ideal product, I'll see if I can track one down. Thank you for your post, first one and helpful as can be.
