I needed ballast for my tractor but didn't want a box that would stick out too far past my quick hitch. Also, I wanted it to be heavy without having to fill the inside space and needed it to give protection to the rear of the tractor. I used a couple of old forks, a section of track from a dozer and a curved peice of plate. It weighs 720lbs and has a different shape then most I have seen.

Very nice! Great fab work.

If you had put the dozer track on the bottom, you could leave fake dozer tracks in interesting places.

But now you could build a fake tyrannosaur foot on the bottom.

I just finished a ballast barrel that I'm quite happy with but I like your project better. If you don't care about the finish you can use it quite effectively as a bumper from Hades. When half your neck is fused and looking backward is a challenge, things like this matter. You made me feel like I've failed. Congrats, that's really nice.

Add a piece of stretched steel to the bottom and you will have a great place to throw shovels, rakes and the like.
