    Default Low slung ballast box

I am thinking of building a ballast box and have been looking at threads and pics and getting ideas that I may want to include if I do go ahead with it.

However, all the ones I see, look to me, to have the weight when carried above the axle centerline? Has anyone ever built a low slung box, like very low so that even when lifted the weight (or majority of it) would be under the axle centerline or at most even with it?

I am planning for an extremely heavy ballast in a barrel. It would mount horizontal on the lift arms and be free to roll when it touched down. That way it could be carried low w/o inadvertent gouging. Im looking for about a ton of steel and concrete in a 55G drum with ends shaped to clear the arms on the 7520. Im saving my scrap steel and lead for the mix.

The problem in a low slung box, it would bottom out if you were loading the tractor on a trailer, or driving up a hill.
