I am betting that is where he welded up 1/2 inch bar stock stacked on top of each other. See the plug welds on top?

It is 5/16'' by 2'' flat bar with holes every 8'' that I stacked on each other. Off set the holes so I could plug weld every 4'' and weld at both ends. So far they have worked very well.
