I have two stationary implements that are v-belt pulley driven - a buzz saw and a hammer mill that I would like to run off the front electromag clutch pulley on my compact tractor. I was thinking of building a jackshaft and pulley system that mounts to the frame in front of the tractor. Has anyone done this? I'm looking for pros and cons to this idea please.
Thanks

No personal experience, but I hear those buzz saws are DANGEROUS!

My two cents.

I have not personally doen anything like this but the amish around here have flat belts, (like what was run form the side power pully on an old deere.) running all over the place. the V belts don't have as much POWER in them as a flat belt as the surface area is not as great for contact. not saying it can't be done but may not have th epower to run the saw through much of anything...
