So I bought a used 1965-ish Lincoln IdealArc AC-250 welder today for $150. Came with a huge amount or rods, all manuals, electrode holder, ground clamp, cable, and is mounted on an original Lincoln K-760 undercarriage (9" steel wheels). Current range is 30-300amps, 30 arc volts. 20% 300amp, 30% 250 amp, 50% 200amp, 100% 140amp duty cycles. Weighs in at 287 lbs with undercarriage. Very retro machine but welds perfectly! It is being delivered Sunday and I will post pics then.

Anyone use this stick welder?

When I was working I used one in a shop for the better part of 20 years. The company put a high freq converter it so I could do Heliarc on Alu or stainless steel. theirs was AC,DC, and I could reverse polarity. It is still in use but it is used now for mostly Alu wire feed spool gun.

Mine's a 80ish AC/DC, good machine. Use it more than the Mig. Good Buy, Enjoy

Mike, Mines about the same vintage as yours I think, only mine is AC/DC machine, Idealarc 250. Works very well, never tried it on AC though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
