Default Some more of my projects

The first is a 30 inch wide rake for pulling small weeds and its reversable

here it is turned over

and a simple trailer mover

and the all famous HF quick hitch on a skid steer

And I would like to thank Timber and 3RRL for these easy directions.
Thanks guys
Jim

Yeah the way the rebar is Welded, it looks like a few twists and tweaks from the rebar coming in contact with rocks in the ground. And there will be some rebar left sticking in the ground, Waiting for an unsuspecting tire or mower blade to run over.

May want to add a gusset from the Pipe to Rebar.

Well, from reading your replies, ya don't like my 30 minute rake, thats how long it took me to make it. And picture how strong a tool like this would have to be to dig in beach sand. We live in Florida and its nothing but a big sandbar with houses on it. Digging here is a whizz, we have these little sand spur things that have sharp thorns all around them and they are smaller than a pea and they stick to everything. It works great on them. And its 5/8 HSS re-bar not 1" and they only hang down about 6 inches. So far so good. And with my other 10 foot extension it would make a good pond rake, J_J mentioned that when he stopped by.

If anyone wants to make something like the rake but make it a little more stout, why not drill holes in the pipe and run the rebar THROUGH the pipe then weld them to the pipe at the openings? It won't keep them from bending or breaking of course, but they won't likely break off cleanly, either.

Mr Jimi,

I like the rake. The welds look to be a bit short. Maybe, if it fails, you can toss in some weld around the top and bottom edges to make it stouter.

If you had a nice drill press, putting the rod into thru holes and then welding around the top would be nicely stout. But it would kill your 30 minute limit!

I have to laugh. It usually takes me more than that to overcome inertia and get started. You were probably done using the rake when many would still be figuring out how to make one. (Myself included).

Thats a real good idea, I can do that if they come off and I'm sure they will, I just hope my tires don't find them first.

I need to go to J_J's place and get some ideas for a grapple like he built, from the pictures I saw, I'm very impressed

I am glad I was able to help you out with that. I think that is the best way to post pictures. It is nice to have a little preview so you can see what you want to open when your looking for a specific picture. Your going to be a real shutterbug now

Now there's a pair of folks I'd like to spend an afternoon with... you and J_J. I could learn some things.

I liked your rake, too. My property is 3/4 sand and 1/4 sandy muck. I think a rake like that would work fine. It is all about your needs for your chores, right?
