Honda compact?
I have been offered - at very low money - a Honda Compact tractor 22HP with hydro trans, FEL, cab, MMM and collector plus two sets of tyres, turf and ag. I don't have any other details at the moment the dealer is going to get back to me.
Does anyone know anything about these and is it worth going to have a look at? I didn't even know that Honda had ever made a compact. The price is £4500 (about US$6750) plus VAT.
Thanks in advance

Re: Honda compact?
Andy,
I also didn’t know Honda made a compact tractor. My first thought was garden tractor until you mentioned the Loader. If it has a 3pt hitch it would seem worth a look. That cab would sure be nice for your snow moving needs.

Re: Honda compact?
Andrew,
I have seen the garden tractors but not the compact tractors.
I checked out one of the lawn/garden tractors and was very impressed with design and quality. Iwould recommend at least looking at it, the price seem decent.
P.S. Thank you for translating for us Americans.

The only information I could find was on this site http://www.sledmaine.net/whittemoresons/honda/hodietra.htm. I am not sure if it is the same model but I believe they only made one model. I must admit that the cab is something that would be very handy with the climate here, snow in winter and the midges in summer. My main concern is spares and service items. I will have to have a word with the dealer about that. The spec doesn't look bad but I was hoping that someone might have experience of one.

Re: Honda compact?
Andrew,
Here in Canada, Honda seems to have moved away from it's tractor line. It has limited itself to lawn tractors or riding mowers. Our local Honda dealer has had one of the earlier tractors, gear (not HST) and gas engine. They have long since given up on selling it and have used it for lawn/yard work. I have other Honda stuff (snowblower, motorcycle) and if their tractors are anything like their other equipment, should be terrific.
I am not aware of an English web page for their tractors though this is one in Japanese.

Good luck in your search.

Re: Honda compact?
The Honda tractor caught on in my area for a short time than fizzle out.
There a Honda tractor for sale at my Kubota dealer..1992,5013,2WD,Gas,4 wheel steering,46"mmm,46"front blade.3pt hitch,ROPS,asking price $2,900.oo
This unit in good shape but the price seems so low..wonder why.
I do remember Honda did have a rear scoop but never seen a fel, would that be a Honda fel or a after market?

The last I saw this unit was about 8 or 9 years ago... it was about $19,000... then it vanished as quickly as it appeared...
Orphans over here don't fare well with mechanics for repair or parts... it may be a super duper "Honda" name but it's still an orphan...
