Re: Origins of the \'Compact Tractor\'
Greetings...
The tractor my parents have used for years to skid logs, haul fire wood, mow fields, and grade / snow plow the driveway (common tasks for our compacts today) is a Farmall Cub. Amazing machine-underpowered and just keeps on running. 4cyl engine, but only 13 hp or so (for the "newer" models. Earlier models were 10 hp or so I believe). In 40 years or so it's been rolled at least once, and the only "major" service has been a new radiator, head gasket, oil pan (mid-mounted grader plow damage), and steering wheel (roll-over damage). I certainly hope my Yanmar will be as good to me!
Cheer,
