Congrats!
We ordered a new tractor today and it sounds like we might have to wait until September to get it! Maybe the entire nation has foresaken SUVs for tractors? Soccer moms on cell phones with FELs... the horror, the horror, the horror... |

Gloom and doom good - everyone is thinking the food supply will collapse and they'll need to farm to survive. (Of course, the diesel infrastructure will remain in place...)
Just kidding. |

But a month does not a year make? There are some out there that are saying at the consumer level things are just starting, and we are not out of the woods yet. Personally I think there are some smoke and mirriors games being played. Guess we're gonna find out!

Well, nobody seems to know how the economy is going to play out.
But then, what's new, right? Great news on your sales though. Thanks for sharing that. I mean, good news is good news to hear ![]() And off-topic, but thank your vendor Case, for having the guts to qualify B100!

Yup... It was talking about how well they cut grass in addition to doing a lot more. I think the station was 103.3 or something. I don't know who wrote the commercial or the little jingle, but it was pretty good. BTW, Congrats on Having a GREAT MONTH!! |

Recession - Officially Defined as 2 or more quarters of negative GDP growth.
GDP by quarter from the US Department of Commerce ($Billions) 2007 I 13,551.9 2007 II 13,768.8 2007 III 13,970.5 2007 IV 14,074.2 2008 I 14,185.2 Well Gollly, sure looks like the numbers are getting bigger! Even with the loan defaults and gas prices! Who knew? (Anybody with the gumption to spend 11 seconds googling.....that's who!)

John,
The info you posted might be good, but it doesn't show what those numbers are made of. With the higher cost of energy and food, the numbers might be skewed. Basically, the money is going to a small number of companies where the rest of the country is suffuring. As for hurting ... I'm a member of Freecycle and just a few weeks ago, a elderly woman posted a request for help. All she wanted was someone to come and help her get a garden together because the rising cost of food and the fixed income she was on. She was lucky because of the members of Freecycle and she had a little land to garden. Others in the city or in a townhome can't even put a garden up. BTW, I do agree we are not technically in a recession. |
