New L3010 ordered
I sat in a lot of seats over the last few weeks. My final decision was for the Kubota L3010 HST, Ind. Tires (filled). My setup includes a FEL, a 6’ rear discharge brush hog finish mower, and a 6’ box blade. Everything is in stock, except for the FEL. No delivery date set yet.
I was real close to getting a Power Trac instead, visited the factory and all. I drove the 422 and the 1430. The 1430 really impressed me. Very nice unit and would probably do a nice job for most of my chores. One of the deciding factors that sealed the deal for a conventional tractor over the PT was box blade’ing. I have a few miles of dirt road to maintain and I didn’t relish the thought of backing all the way. Chris at PT showed me all the implements that I was considering purchasing and let me try them all (some on both machines). The one big surprise was that I requested to mow on a slope. They don’t have one. I would have thought they would have moved a little dirt and set up a demo area for slope mowing, but no such luck.
After driving a 2910 (again) I thought for sure that was the one, but with the 1400 dollar rebate on the L3010 the price of the 2910 and the 3010 were within 100 dollars of each other. I drove a couple different 3010’s and was impressed with the overall maneuverability of it for its size. The weight of the tractor helped. I can use the extra mass for many of the chores I have planned.
Has anyone used the 6’ brush hog finish mower (rear discharge)? Is this one of the better 3ph 6’ mowers? Other recommendations?
Thanks to all on TBN who have ever posted anything! I’ve learned from you all. Now I can’t wait to get some real seat time on this baby.
A big smile on the ole Moon tonight!!!!!
