Default IH 574 or 574 Util?

I inherited an IH 574 and would like to get a FEL for it. I see different model loaders listed for IH 574 and 574 Util. I presume the 574 is a row crop tractor and believe I have a Util ... but how do I know for sure? Thanks!

Check this link for info about your tractor. They only show one model here, but...

I'm sure that there are IH enthusiasts here who can help more.

    Good Luck

    Welcome Rock Creek!
I have a IH 454 that is virtually identical except with a 3cyl. diesel, about 42 hp. I found a good used tractor that never had a loader on it, so the front end was still good. I had a new Frey loader put on it.

That was 22 years ago. I suspect the only difference between row crop and util. on this tractor is the front axle. Swept-back on the util. and straight on the row crop, but I may be mistaken. Mine has the swept-back front axle.

The different axle geometry would have an impact on what loader will fit I would imagine.

If you put a new loader on this 574, do a trans-hydraulic fluid + filter change so that you arent running dirty old hydraulic oil through the brand-new loader valves and cylinders.

I know a few people with 574s. You can run most of the IH loaders on it.
A friend of mine has an IH 1250 on his, and the 2000 loader on my 606 would fit also.
