I will speak for the Kubota models only. I have spent a week or a little more looking at the Grand L models so I think I can easily look at the other models they have to offer and speak of some pluses and minuses.

The L3240 has much high weight capacities. For me this would be a major point to look at a it. Also the lever which runs the FEL is mounted closer to the user on the L3240 which may be a consideration for you. The L3240 does have 3 less HP. I am not sure if this makes a difference for your use. The L3540 has a very similar HP rating as the L3400.

I just double checked the specs. I have not used a L3400 nor did I test drive one to see it's advantages. I would recommend the L3240 of the two Kubota models (with a price check on the L3540).

I chose the L4240HST on order and it should be in next week. My current tractor is very close to the L3240, but the HST is much nicer. The larger loader for the L3240 is much better than mine.

Also consider dealer support. I learned this is very important. Don't look at the dealer that can support you know with a little lower price. Look at the dealer which more than likely will provide great after sales support for the life of the machine. I received a great price on my current machine. The dealer is not supporting these machines well now (no longer carries line and does not have a tech and parts on hand). I received excellent support to fix my recent problem from my Kubota dealer without hesitation. I am trading it for a Kubota now.

Where are you located?
In June-July a DK45SE HST with FEL was ~21000 in Central Texas.

The extra money for the L3240HST over L3400HST is worth it. I would not recommend the L3400/2800 to anyone.

I think you've gotten your answer on the tractors.

If you go with the Landpride Box Scraper, I think you need to go with the 25 series. Those machines might tear up the lighter duty 15 series, especially given that Landpride recommends 17-25 hp for the 15 series and 25-40 hp for the 25 series.

I've run a 15 series box scraper on a 30 hp Kubota, and wouldn't run anything less than a 25 series on a machine the size & power of the ones you are considering.

The DK40se is the sweet spot in the Kioti line right now. Much more powerful loader than the DK35se as well as bigger axles and tires for not a lot more money. Only difference between the DK40se and DK45se is 4hp and about $2k (last I checked).

Love my DK40se. (not the tractor in my avatar...that is the CK20)

From a price / value perspective it is really hard to beat the DK40SE with the 401 loader. That loader seems like a BEAST.
