So we jsut sold our Encore Zero Turn mower that had less then 100 hours on it. Was a 2003 Model. 61"

We have 5 acres of grass that we mow every other weekend.

We can either get

2008 Scag WildCat. $7995

2008 ExMark Lazer Z. $7600

Or, pay this kid that my girlfriend knows, $20hr. He did it once already and we gave him $60 and a $10 tip and he mowed everything and trimmed around the trees and road. We'd get him to mow every other week. So looking at around $650 a year for him to mow.

We do have a Deere 420, its in the shop getting some new points so thats what ill be using in the areas we dont get him to mow.

Just seeing what you guys recommend. We have the money, but what would better.

Where are you at? If you are within 30 miles or so, I'll do it every other week for $50 flat. I'll trim and everything he does. Same goes for anyone else close enough.

Spend time with your girlfriend- sound like thats what she wants - have someone else cut the grass for the short term. When you are ready to cut the grass decide then what "unit" works best for you.

Well if money isn't the issue than it comes down to time, and your own desire to cut. For me personally, I wouldn't sub it out because I enjoy cutting grass. But, if you see it more as a chore, than paying the kid would probably go over better. Really that is going to be the cheaper way. If your going to buy another mower though I think either one is a good choice. I think Exmark just redesigned the Lazer Z for the 09' MY.

We cut 15 acres 4x a month.

I dont mind cutting the grass, I always did kind of enjoy it. Pop the ipod on and throw on some ear protectors and go to town lol.

The girlfriend hates me getting up early and going out and mowing.

The 09 ExMarks didnt change.
