I'm have far more expertise on New Hollands, but I think you could pay the $25k for the Kubota L39 and not get burned. That actually sounds like the better of the two deals to me too. The L39 is an engineered TLB and has such advanced features as load levelling on the FEL. If I had the TC40 with BH offered for $20k and the Kubota L39 for $25k, I'd be tryin' to find an extra $5k to buy the Kubota. However, if I could get that TC40 for $17k, I'd just have to buy the NH.

Thanks again. I think if I can't get the NH for under 20K I'll take your advice and try to get the Kabota.

I use pallet forks quite a bit and the load leveling on the L39 is great. The L39 is a great TLB, but it has smaller tires than my DX45 (which should be the same tires as the TC40) and not as much ground clearance. Even though the backhoe is very easy to take on and off on the L39, I like the DX45 better for 3 point work. The loader is not removable on the L39 like the TC40. So if you need to do 3 point work in tight areas, it is a little harder with the L39. The L39 does have a skid steer type quick attach on the loader, so it is easy to take the bucket off which helps some. $25K for a 2006 L39 with only 122 hours is a good price.
