Alaska JD 3320-3720 overpriced or good deal?

Hello All,

I am looking to buy my first tractor with a cab, and was wondering if this looks like a good deal? At the very end you can see the options that I choose for the cab....All Items will be bought in Anchorage Alaska. Also is there anything I need to remove or add? I would like to max out the CAB so If I want to expand it later the lines and such are already in place. Also I was quoted the prices for attachments as well.

You have a lot of bells and whistles on your option list. How about wheel weights, diverter valves, Rim Guard for the tires, snowchains and wheel spacers. Any and all of these would be more important than the ashtray and cig lighter. Also top n tilt hitch would be nice.

I don't know how much shipping is to AK but your price for a 3520 cab is slightly higher than what I paid for a 4520 cab.

I bought a loaded 2520 with lots of attchmnt's up here two years ago and paid 100%+ retail on everything. The dealer is OK - count on getting better info from TBN.

For comparision, I bought a Kubota L3830 about 6 years ago outside and had it shipped up, which turned out to be a huge savings over anybrand any dealer local.

You might also check with the new Kubota dealer who has a full showroom and most importantly, parts - they're at 76th & the Old Seward. I stopped in there Friday just to look and they had an L4240 w/cab they were putting together. I'm guessing they're hungry to sell and get market share - get a quote from the lower-48 add 2500 for shipping and deal away.

The chains are a good idea, particulalry for our icy winters - try Arctic Wire & Rope.

By the way, Kubota is better on some things, JD on others IMO - I went JD this last time becuase of the Kubota dealer situation, which now appears fixed.

Welcome to TBN! Great resource and good folks! Buying a new tractor in Alaska is a "hard-line proposition".

I've had better luck with Kubota as far as buying below MSRP in Alaska. But, neither are great deals when compared to the experiences of folk's buying in the lower 48.

The best deal (offer) that I have gotten with JD (Craig Taylor) is around 8% below MSRP found on the JD website under "Build Your Own". Three other tractor buddies (2520, 790 and 3032E) bought new tractors and paid almost list!

My last tractor, I bought new from a dealer here on TBN and had it shipped to a friend's farm in Olympia, WA. I drove down - bought a new, equipment trailer - and hauled it back to Alaska.

Long and short - if you have the time - it can save you thousands to work a deal with an outside dealer! The closest Craig Taylor could (or would) come to the total price (FOB Olympia) for a new JD110 was just over $6K. So, for about $500 and 11 days driving I got a new equipment trailer and a new tractor.
